Frequently Asked Questions

Browse below some of the most frequently asked questions about our materials and process.

The Stone Collection

Why can’t I get the price from you?

All pricing comes from a stone fabricator. They factor in their labor and time to template, cut, fabricate, and install the stone slabs that you select in our showrooms. Fabricators are specialized subcontractors who utilize specific processes and equipment to create the finished, final countertop that gets installed. If you are working with a trade professional, such as a general contractor, interior designer, or architect, they may already have a specialized fabricator they utilize to cut their stone. We also have lists of top local fabrication shops that we can recommend for your project if you do not have a fabricator or are not working with a trade professional.

Do I need a fabricator to purchase stone from The Stone Collection?

Yes, you will need a fabricator in order to purchase our stone slabs from The Stone Collection. Stone fabricators take our raw slab materials and template, cut, fabricate, and install the stone you select in our facility. We do not provide installation services or pricing for your project.

How long can I hold material for?

We will hold your selected materials for 14 days, allowing you time to secure bids with your fabricator. After a 2 week period, we request a 50% deposit from your fabricator.

What types of stone do you carry?

We carry the deepest selection of the highest quality natural and engineered stone slabs avaiable. This includes granite, marble, onyx, quartzite, soapstone, travertine, limestone, sandstone, slate, and tile. We also stock engineered, or man-made surfaces, including semiprecious stone slabs, engineered quartz, sintered stone, porcelain slabs and large-format tile, and recycled glass slabs. We carry premium hard surface brands including Caesarstone quartz, Neolith sintered stone, Diresco quartz, Vetrite glass slabs, Geoluxe, and more.

What are your hours?

All of our showrooms are open Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Saturday hours vary by showroom so please select your location on our website or Google Maps.

Do I need an appointment to visit your showroom?

You do not need an appointment to visit any of our showrooms. All of our showrooms are open to the public for selection purposes Monday-Saturday. We are closed Sundays.

Do I need to bring anything with me when I visit your showroom?

We recommend bringing any available design elements, such as cabinet, flooring, and backsplash samples to help aid in selecting your stone slabs.

Do you provide installation services?

We do not provide installation services or fabrication. We work with top local fabrication shops in all of our markets. Each of our showrooms maintains a list of these fabrication companies. This list is available by selecting any location on our website and clicking on “Fabricator Directory” up top.

How do I know how many slabs I need?

Prior to placing slabs on hold with us, your fabricator will confirm how many slabs are needed for your project based on your measurements.

What does hand selection mean?

Hand selection is the process of selecting or picking the exact slabs for your project within a block of available stone. This process happens Monday-Friday at all of our showrooms. Because we do not have warehouse staff available, we are unable to provide hand selection assistance on Saturdays.

What is a stone fabricator?

Stone fabricators are the specialized subcontractors that take our stone materials and template, fabricate, and install the stone in your home, business, or wherever your project may be. We sell our stone slabs directly to stone fabricators. Fabricators will also provide all pricing on our materials for your project, including their installation.
